Soneium and K-pop entertainment group DayOneDream announced a partnership on September 29, 2026 to bring K-pop IP onchain as tokenized assets. The deal runs through WAVIST, DayOneDream’s IP tokenization platform, on the blockchain developed by Sony Group and Startale Group.
The Brief
- Soneium, developed by Sony Group and Startale Group, is partnering with DayOneDream, the K-content group behind BTOB, LEE CHAE YEON, MEMI, and 2F.
- The collaboration runs through WAVIST, DayOneDream’s K-pop IP tokenization platform.
- In May, WAVIST completed a full tokenized IP bond lifecycle for K-pop IP, from issuance through redemption and burning.
- Any new offerings are subject to applicable regulatory and eligibility requirements, the companies said.
- The release discloses no bond size, token structure, chain metrics, or launch date for new offerings.
WAVIST already ran one bond through its full lifecycle
Soneium is a blockchain network developed by Sony Group and Startale Group. DayOneDream is a K-content entertainment group that directly manages the full lifecycle of artist businesses, across music production and publishing, artist IP management, and live entertainment.
Its roster includes BTOB, LEE CHAE YEON, MEMI, and 2F. The companies unveiled the partnership at Tokenizing K-Pop: WAVIST Night, held in Seoul during Korea Blockchain Week 2026.
WAVIST is not untested. In May, WAVIST completed the full lifecycle of a tokenized IP bond, from issuance through final redemption and burning. That completed tokenized bond cycle is the concrete precedent behind this partnership.
K-pop is a market unlike any other, yet the way capital reaches it has barely changed. Our partnership with Soneium sits where RWA, IP, and K-pop meet, and it opens a real path to investing through the IP itself. said Dylan Cho, RWA Lead at DayOneDream.
The release stops short of product specifics
Soneium and WAVIST said they will continue bringing tokenized K-content assets and associated revenue streams onchain. That would give eligible users new ways to access the IP they support. Any access stays subject to applicable regulatory and eligibility requirements, a compliance gate, not an open invitation to buy in.
Entertainment IP is one of the clearest opportunities for bringing real-world value onchain, said Yuji Kumagai, Head of Soneium Protocol. He added that Soneium plans to bring more entertainment IP onto the network beyond K-pop.
Why It Matters?
The announcement pairs a working precedent, WAVIST’s completed bond cycle, with an undated roadmap. That gap matters. A tokenized-IP bond that already redeemed and burned is a verifiable proof point. But nothing in the release commits to a size, a timeline, or the mechanics fans and investors will use to “invest through the IP.” Until DayOneDream or Soneium publishes those terms, the regulatory-and-eligibility qualifier is doing the real work here.
Neither company set a date for the next tokenized offering. What happens next is disclosure: Soneium and DayOneDream still need to publish the product terms. Access to the promised revenue streams remains subject to the regulatory and eligibility requirements the companies say will gate participation.
