12 estates, most recent event first. Filter or search below.

What is in scope Crypto insolvency estates whose proceedings are court-docketed and whose administrators publish creditor distributions.

12 estates tracked through their own dockets and estate-published notices. The outcomes span the whole range: 3 estates returned full value to creditors or customers, while 2 have published no distribution at all. The same legal process produces both, which is why no single recovery number describes crypto insolvency. 10 of 12 disclose a recovery figure; the rest publish none, and this table leaves those cells empty rather than estimating them.

Estate positions as court filings and the estates’ own notices state them; distribution figures are quoted verbatim and never recomputed. Informational only, not legal or financial advice.

Kroll — Vauld scheme of arrangement announcement ↗

Recent change
Added 3 Aug 2026. The scheme was approved by over 90% of voting creditors and sanctioned by the High Court, with recoveries of up to 93% for roughly 150,000 retail creditors, repaid in crypto — figures from Kroll's own announcement. Two caveats recorded deliberately: the 36% first distribution was announced prospectively (by October 2023) and no administrator publication confirming completion was found; and withdrawals under the scheme have been suspended since 30 June 2025. The filed date is the moratorium grant (1 Aug 2022); the application date was published only as July 2022.

Primary source
Ogier — interim distribution order (counsel to the joint liquidators) ↗
Last confirmed
3 Aug 2026
Recent change
Published 3 Aug 2026 on a documented scope-bar call: Teneo communicates through creditor letters rather than an open page, so the citable publication is the liquidators' own counsel announcing the court-sanctioned order they obtained — the liquidation's public channel, analogous to a regulator's press release, not third-party press. The 46% figure is the liquidators' December 2023 estimate and is labelled as an estimate, never as a completed distribution.

Case 23-10598 (Bankr. D. Del.)

Latest event
Amended liquidation plan confirmed 31 October 2023; Plan Administrator David Maria executes the wind-down.
Primary source
Omni Agent Solutions — Bittrex case portal ↗
Last confirmed

Recent change
Verified 3 Aug 2026 before publish: plan confirmation date settled as 31 October 2023 (Delaware, case 23-10598), with David Maria as Plan Administrator. Bittrex never lent or hypothecated customer assets, so the confirmed plan returned customer crypto in kind at 100%, with a liquidating trust handling residual claims. The Omni portal is the claims agent's canonical channel; bot-walled to curl, renders normally in a browser.

How this tracker is maintained

Every estate is followed through its own docket, and every recovery figure is one the estate published.

  1. 01

    Sourced

Estates enter when their insolvency is court-docketed and their administrators publish creditor-facing figures. Recovery percentages are the estate’s own, in the estate’s own units; we do not compute a recovery from asset reports or press coverage.

  2. 02

    Dated

Each row carries the petition date and the date of the most recent docketed or estate-published development, so a quiet case is visibly quiet rather than silently stale.

  3. 03

    Re-checked

Dockets are re-read every 30 days. A figure that cannot be confirmed against the estate’s own publication keeps its last verified value and date.

Why so few estates?
Because the bar is a published creditor figure, not a filing. Many insolvencies are docketed without the administrator publishing anything a creditor could act on, and an estate that publishes nothing cannot honestly appear in a table about recoveries.
Does a recovery percentage mean I would get that back?
No. Estate-wide percentages are stated against petition-date claim values, vary by creditor class, and are paid in tranches over years. Your own class and claim determine your outcome, and only the estate can tell you those.
Why do figures change?
Recoveries are contested and revised throughout a case. A number here is what the estate said as of the stated date, which is the only thing that can be sourced.

This is informational content and does not constitute legal or financial advice. Estate figures are what administrators published as of the stated dates; recoveries are revised, contested, and paid in tranches, and a percentage here is not a prediction of what any individual creditor receives. Confirm with the docket or the estate’s own notices before relying on a figure.
