It names 214 Bitcoin (BTC), a $180 million stake in Beast Industries, an $85 million stake in Eightco Holdings (NASDAQ: ORBS) and $612 million of cash and marketable securities. The 5% target sits about 76,000 ETH away
Five percent of the supply the release cites works out to 6,105,000 ETH. That leaves Bitmine 76,054 ETH short of its goal. The release’s “99% of the way” is a rounded version of 98.75% by that same arithmetic.
Chairman Thomas “Tom” Lee framed the pace as a streak. Bitmine has bought ETH each and every week since the inception of the ETH Treasury Strategy on June 30, 2025, he stated. At last week’s buying pace, the gap would take about 6.1 weeks to close. That estimate assumes unchanged weekly purchases and an unchanged supply.
Staking covers 84% of the ETH
Bitmine says its 5.1 million currently staked ETH equal 84% of the 6.03 million ETH it holds. That leaves 961,637 ETH outside staking, based on the exact counts above. Lee’s projection compares what staking pays now with what it would pay once the rest joins.
Lee stated that the projected ETH staking reward would be $400 million on an annualized basis, using a 2.61% 7-day BMNR yield. That case applies when Bitmine’s ETH is fully staked by MAVAN and its staking partners. He set it against annualized staking revenues of $336 million on the ETH staked now.
The inputs reconcile. At the release’s price, the 2.61% yield on the staked ETH comes to about $336 million. The same yield on every ETH held comes to about $400 million.
The difference between the two projections is $64 million a year. Each one-dollar move in ETH shifts the value of the holding by about $6.03 million. Every dollar figure rests on one price snapshot, and the projection rests on a seven-day yield, so both move with price.
