Vietnam’s central bank, The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), has come out in support of the sweeping cryptocurrency mining equipment ban previously proposed by Vietnam’s Ministry of Finance (MoF).

The bank’s stance was expressed in a reply to an official letter from the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) which was the institution to bring forward the MoF proposal of a cryptocurrency mining equipment ban.

More than 9300 cryptocurrency mining devices have been imported into Vietnam in 2017 wit further 6300 arriving in 2018.
