Spanish Congress supports favourable blockchain regulations

Spanish Congress has given its unanimous support to new, favourable blockchain and cryptos regulations.

It was Spain’s majority party – Partido Popular (People’s Party) – that proposed the draft regulation which then received the support of all other parties partaking in the House Finance and Public Function Committee meeting.

The draft proposes “regulatory sandboxes” to offer a controlled testing environment for blockchain as a mean of introducing the tech into the Spanish market. Furthermore, the Congress acknowledged blockchain’s cost-effectiveness and agreed to promote it in the are of payments and transfers.
