# Polygon Open Money Stack Adds TRON USDT Support

Polygon Labs on 7th October, 2026 added TRON to Polygon Open Money Stack, connecting the network’s more than $94 billion in circulating USDT to licensed U.S. bank rails through a single integration.

## The Brief

- Polygon Ramps links TRON-based products to fiat on- and off-ramps backed by money-transmitter licenses across 48 U.S. states.
- Businesses can now create and manage TRON wallets through the same integration they already use for other supported networks.
- Payment firms can route USDT between TRON and EVM chains such as Polygon Chain inside one transaction flow.
- Polygon Labs calls this the first phase and expects more assets, markets and payment features to arrive over time.

## How dollars reach a TRON wallet?

Polygon Labs said in its [announcement](https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2026/10/07/3376736/0/en/polygon-open-money-stack-expands-to-tron-extending-network-access-to-regulated-u-s-payment-rails.html) that dollars can enter by bank transfer, debit card or cash at a retail counter. Those funds land in virtual accounts that hold real balances, then settle onchain under rules each business sets.

A remittance provider shows the mechanics best. Its customer pays in dollars, and the recipient gets USDT in a **TRON wallet**. The provider skips separate ramp, wallet and routing vendors. The same pipe runs backward too, so a user can move USDT off TRON and cash out to a bank account.

**Marc Boiron**, CEO of Polygon Labs, framed the design around one connection point. He said:

“

Polygon Open Money Stack was built so a payment company can plug in once and move money wherever it needs to go.

Marketplaces get a different workflow. One could accept [USDT on TRON](https://coinlaw.io/usd-coin-vs-tether-statistics/), hold it in a programmable account and pay a seller through an EVM network or a bank account. The setup doesn’t turn TRON into a bank, and it doesn’t lift a payment firm’s own licensing obligations.

Cross-chain movement is the third piece. A business can route **USDT between TRON** and supported EVM networks in one flow, while the stack handles bridging, conversion and execution underneath. Customers don’t have to switch to a preferred blockchain, and the business doesn’t build separate compliance and payment plumbing for each network.

> LATEST: Polygon Labs added TRON support to Open Money Stack, allowing businesses to offer stablecoin payments and cross-border transfers through a single integration. The integration also lets businesses move USDT between TRON and supported EVM networks, but it does not eliminate their licensing and regulatory obligations.

## A peer-to-peer network meets licensed rails

TRON has handled over $30 trillion in total transfer volume, the release said. [CoinLaw research data shows](https://coinlaw.io/tron-statistics/) about **93%** of that volume was peer-to-peer in the second quarter.

That mix is the real context for the deal. Most dollars on TRON move person to person, often for retail payments, savings and cross-border transfers. Businesses serving those users have typically assembled licensing, sponsor banks, wallet providers and cross-chain routing on their own before touching a bank account. Polygon’s stack bundles those parts behind one integration, with compliance and orchestration handled underneath.

[Polygon](https://coinlaw.io/polygon-statistics/) co-founder Sandeep Nailwal told CoinDesk the target is businesses that want to offer digital-dollar services on TRON without first piecing together banking access, wallets and orchestration.

Polygon brings its own volume to the pairing. The company said it had processed more than $3 trillion in payments volume as of September 21. TRON founder Justin Sun said the link makes it easier for businesses to build payment products that tie onchain liquidity to traditional financial rails.

The stack itself is young. Polygon [unveiled Open Money Stack in January](https://coinlaw.io/polygon-open-money-stack-launch-stablecoin-payments/) after moving to buy **Coinme** and **Sequence**. Polygon lists Sequence as acquired and Coinme as pending. Together they add enterprise wallet infrastructure plus cross-chain orchestration to the licensed U.S. fiat access Polygon wanted.

## Why It Matters?

Payment firms already running **USDT payouts on TRON** have a practical check to make: the ramps cover 48 U.S. states, not all 50, so it’s worth confirming where U.S. users sit. Several questions stay open. Which TRON assets beyond USDT come next? Who are the launch customers, and what does the service cost? The release doesn’t say.

The next checkpoint is the close of the pending [Coinme acquisition](https://coinlaw.io/polygon-coinme-bitcoin-atm-acquisition/), one of the two deals the stack was built on. Until then, TRON support stays in its first phase, with Polygon Labs pointing to more assets, markets and payment capabilities later.
