Crypto disclosure policing to be set up by SEC office

The Securities and Exchange Commission revealed in its annual “examination priorities” update the commission’s Compliance Inspections and Examinations (OCIE) intends to place more focus on cryptocurrencies market with the goal of monitoring risks, preventing frauds and improving compliance.

The emphasis will be placed on making sure that the cryptocurrencies investors are receiving “”adequate disclosures”. Moreover, those involved in the sale and marketing of initial coin offerings – businesses and individuals alike – will also be monitored by OCIE.
