Asia Thailand

Just a week after Thailand’s new licensing system for companies from the digital assets sector went live, 20 crypto exchanges have already applied for licenses.

The news comes from Rapee Sucharitakul the secretary-general of the Thailand Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) who revealed the number of applicants to the Bangkok Post. He also said that approximately 50 ICOs have applied for licenses in addition to three companies which applied to become so-called “ICO portals”.

“Many companies interested in opening digital asset exchanges have said digital assets and cryptocurrency trading in the Thai market are quite active,” said the secretary-general.
