CFTC allows Bitcoin-Futures, then warns of their dangers

December 16, 2017 by Ashley MAO

In a recently issued statement, The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission advised the potential crypto coins, investors, to get better educated and detailed what it considers the risks of “virtual currency trading”.

“Customers should inform themselves as to how the index or auction prices used to settle the contract are determined,” reads the statement and warns against speculating on bitcoin derivatives which “should be considered high-risk transactions.  “

The statement comes just 2 weeks after the CFTC announced that CME Group Inc. and Cboe Global Markets Inc. would start offering bitcoin derivatives.
