January 17, 2018 by Ashley MAO

Jean-Pierre Landau, a man who called Bitcoin “the tulips of modern times” has been appointed  to lead a taskforce probing cryptocurrency regulation by the France’s Minister of the Economy Bruno Le Maire.

Explaining this appointment,  Le Maire said that the government wish is to have a stable economy hence it cannot allow for Bitcoin-related speculative risk and misappropriation of funds.

The taskforce will also be responsible for establishing ways to prevent tax evasion using bitcoin as well as cryptocurrency use for illicit activities.
