# AnchorWatch Launches Qualified Bitcoin Custody in Nevada

On October 19, 2026, **AnchorWatch Trust Company (ATC)**, a Nevada state-chartered trust company, opens to provide qualified Bitcoin custody, according to AnchorWatch’s release. The Nevada Financial Institutions Division authorized ATC to act as a custodian, per AnchorWatch.

## At a Glance

- ATC provides qualified custody for fiduciaries, public companies, revocable and irrevocable trusts, high-net-worth individuals, and others, according to AnchorWatch.
- ATC sets monthly custody fees in fixed-dollar tiers, capped at $10,000, with no further increase above the cap, per AnchorWatch.
- In its Multi-Institution model, key control is distributed across AnchorWatch Trust Company, BitGo in the United States and CoinCorner in the Isle of Man.
- Insurance backed by A+ rated Lloyd’s of London syndicates is available to U.S.-domiciled companies, U.S.-domiciled subsidiaries, and U.S. residing individuals, according to AnchorWatch.

AnchorWatch’s own release is the only source for every figure here. That includes the Nevada authorization, the Halborn and Doyensec audits, and the Lloyd’s of London insurance terms. Qualified custody sits apart from the user-held keys behind wallets.

Clients choose between two key structures, the company says. In Flagship Custody, ATC holds the keys required for qualified custody, while the client’s trustees or executives hold additional keys. Multi-Institution Custody distributes key control across **AnchorWatch Trust Company**, [BitGo](https://coinlaw.io/bitgo-statistics/) in the United States and CoinCorner in the Isle of Man.

The release defines no role for those two firms beyond key control, and it does not say how transactions are approved. Flagship custody keeps the client’s trustees or executives in the key set alongside ATC.

## Fixed-dollar fees replace percentage pricing

AnchorWatch said ATC’s annual custody fees are fixed-dollar amounts rather than percentages of assets and are tiered by vault size. The release also describes the fee as monthly, so the billing period is not settled here. Above the cap, additional purchases or appreciation in the value of the Bitcoin held do not increase the annual custody fee.

The company calls this a marked departure from the pricing structure of other Qualified Custodians providing bitcoin custody. It also says the cap brings potential six- or seven-figure annual savings for large enterprises. A flat cap separates the fee from Bitcoin’s price, which a percentage fee cannot. The savings figure is the company’s own estimate.

## The insurance limit is a ceiling with conditions

The company says it is a Lloyd’s of London Coverholder. AnchorWatch has authority to write up to a **$370 million** limit per ATC client. The optional insurance is backed by A+ rated Lloyd’s of London syndicates. Coverage is subject to underwriting approval and all applicable policy terms, conditions, limits and exclusions.

That figure is a ceiling on what AnchorWatch may write for one client. It is not a payout, and the release does not say any client holds cover at that level.

The cover applies to loss of Bitcoin due to a variety of perils. Those include violent coercion and kidnappings. They also include AnchorWatch acting fraudulently resulting in a loss.

The company also says custody without insurance may be available across a broader range of jurisdictions than insurance, subject to client eligibility, onboarding and [KYC/KYB/AML requirements](https://coinlaw.io/kyc-compliance-in-crypto-statistics/).

## What Matters?

AnchorWatch said its **Trident Vault** has secured customer Bitcoin for 20 months. AnchorWatch also said the vault has been audited or reviewed by **Halborn**, **Doyensec** and the technical underwriters at **Lloyd’s of London** syndicates. The company said it has completed a SOC 2 examination and completed the due diligence required by the Nevada Financial Institutions Division.

Each of those points rests on the company’s own statement, and the release links no regulator filing or audit report. Insurance stays a case-by-case product, because insurance is rated on a customer’s particular risk profile.
